We are preparing an AI upgrade programme to raise the responsiveness, transparency and consistency of our logistics, agency and trading services, including a visual intelligence layer for process tracking and safety control. The programme is a roadmap in progress, delivered and validated phase by phase.

A multilingual assistant that captures cargo details, checks completeness and prepares a structured quotation draft for our team to review, so customers in English, Bahasa Melayu or Chinese get a faster first response.

Route and capacity comparison across sea, land and air options, with milestone-based status updates shared with the customer instead of chasing updates by phone.

Document & Process Automation

Recognition and pre-filling of commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations and bills of lading, reducing manual re-keying between systems and lowering inconsistency risk.

Data-Driven Operational Decisions

Review of transit performance, cost structure and demand patterns to plan capacity ahead and identify where handling steps can be simplified.

Intelligent Documentation & Customs

Document handling is the first place AI changes daily work, because the input is already text and the rules are already written down. Recognition plus rule checking removes re-keying and catches inconsistencies before submission.

  • Invoice, packing list, bill of lading and declaration parsing into structured fields
  • HS code candidates with reasoning, reviewed by a classification officer
  • Cross-document consistency checks before the file is lodged

Our position: Document recognition and HS code assistance are in pilot, with officer confirmation required on every output.

02Early adoption

Predictive ETA, Capacity & Rates

The next shift is from reporting what happened to anticipating what will happen: arrival times, equipment availability and rate movement, expressed as a range with a confidence level rather than a single promise.

  • ETA ranges that update as milestone events arrive
  • Equipment and slot availability outlook per lane for booking decisions
  • Exception early warning when a leg drifts outside its expected window

Our position: Milestone data is being standardised first, because forecast quality depends on event consistency more than on model choice.

03Pilot stage

Visual Intelligence in Yard & Warehouse

Cameras add a layer that structured data cannot provide: what the cargo actually looked like at each handover, and whether the work around it was done safely. The value is evidence and prevention, not surveillance of individuals.

  • Container and pallet condition, seal verification and loading checks
  • PPE compliance, forklift and pedestrian conflicts, restricted zone intrusion
  • Stacking height, lashing anomalies and yard vehicle speed

Our position: A limited-area pilot with officer review of every automated detection, signage at monitored areas and defined retention periods.

Agentic Logistics Operations

Agents move beyond answering questions to completing bounded tasks: collecting missing cargo details, preparing a quotation draft, chasing a milestone, or assembling a claim file. They work through defined interfaces and hand over to a person when judgement is required.

Our position: Agent templates are being built on our own workflows first, then offered to industry customers through the AI cloud platform.

Route Optimisation & Emission Awareness

Cost and carbon are increasingly decided together. Mode selection, consolidation and routing choices all carry an emission consequence, and customers are starting to ask for the number alongside the rate.

Our position: Emission estimates are being added to routing comparisons as indicative figures, clearly labelled until the calculation basis is agreed with customers.

Visual Intelligence

Seeing the Process, Not Just the Data

Status data tells us where a shipment is. Imagery tells us what condition it is in and whether the work around it was done safely. Our planned visual intelligence layer adds two capabilities: visual tracking of the cargo process, and visual control of site safety. Both are being introduced area by area, with human review at every step.

Programme Status

Pilot scope: yard and warehouse cameras at our Lumut operating base, covering loading verification and PPE detection. Extension to in-transit imagery and full safety analytics follows after pilot review.

Visual Process Tracking

A visual record of cargo condition and handling milestones, attached to each shipment file.

  • Container & Pallet Condition Recognition

    Captured images of container bodies, doors and palletised cargo are checked for visible dents, rust, wet cartons or broken shrink wrap before and after handling.

  • Loading, Unloading & Seal Verification

    Seal numbers and loading stages are photographed at each handover, giving both sides a shared record of what was loaded and in what condition.

  • Yard & Warehouse Visual Stocktaking

    Slot occupancy and stacking positions are reviewed from fixed camera views, supporting cycle counts without walking the whole yard.

  • In-Transit Milestone Imagery

    Key checkpoints such as gate-in, gate-out, port entry and delivery are attached to the shipment record as visual milestones.

  • Damage Evidence & Liability Clarity

    When damage is reported, time-stamped imagery helps establish at which stage it appeared, which supports faster claim handling.

  • Imagery Linked to Waybill Records

    Photos are matched to the corresponding booking or waybill reference, so the visual trail sits inside the shipment file rather than in a separate folder.

Visual Safety Control

Continuous observation of high-risk operating areas, with alerts routed to the supervisor on duty.

  • PPE Compliance Detection

    Helmet, hi-vis vest and safety footwear presence is checked at yard and warehouse entry points, with non-compliance flagged to the site supervisor.

  • Forklift & Pedestrian Path Conflict

    Movement of forklifts, reach stackers and walking staff is monitored in shared aisles, triggering an alert when paths converge.

  • Restricted Zone Intrusion Alerts

    Lifting operations, container swing zones and quay edges are marked as restricted areas; entry during active work raises an immediate warning.

  • Stacking Height & Lashing Anomalies

    Over-height stacking, tilted containers and missing or loose lashing are identified from camera views for correction before movement.

  • Vehicle Speed & Illegal Parking

    Yard vehicle speed and stopping positions are reviewed against site rules, reducing collision risk in congested operating areas.

  • Fatigue & Unsafe Behaviour Cues

    Repeated unsafe patterns are summarised for supervisors so coaching and shift planning can address root causes rather than single incidents.

  • Incident Replay & Corrective Closure

    Recorded clips around a reported event are replayed during review, and the agreed corrective action is tracked until it is closed.

Boundaries We Set for Visual Technology

Cameras and recognition models are useful only when people trust them. The following rules apply to every visual deployment we plan.

Purpose Limitation

Imagery is used for cargo condition, operational safety and dispute evidence only, not for unrelated monitoring of individuals.

Human Confirmation

Automated detections are treated as prompts for review. A responsible officer confirms before any penalty, claim or escalation proceeds.

Retention & Access Control

Recordings are kept for a defined period and access is limited to authorised operations and safety staff, with access logged.

Regulatory Alignment

Deployment follows Malaysian personal data protection requirements and customer contractual terms, with signage at monitored areas.
