Planning a Visual Intelligence Pilot for Cargo Condition and Site Safety

Planning a Visual Intelligence Pilot for Cargo Condition and Site Safety

As part of our AI upgrade programme, we are preparing a visual intelligence pilot that adds an imagery layer on top of shipment data. The aim is to record cargo condition and handling milestones consistently, and to support safer working practice in the yard and warehouse.

On the tracking side, the pilot covers container and pallet condition before and after handling, seal and loading verification, yard and warehouse stocktaking views, and key in-transit checkpoints. Each image set is matched to the corresponding booking or waybill reference so it becomes part of the shipment file rather than a loose attachment.

On the safety side, the scope includes PPE compliance at entry points, forklift and pedestrian path conflicts, restricted zone intrusion during lifting operations, stacking height and lashing anomalies, and yard vehicle speed. Automated detections are reviewed and confirmed by a responsible officer before any action is taken.

Footage is used only for cargo condition, operational safety and dispute evidence. It is kept for a defined period, access is limited to authorised staff, and signage is displayed at monitored areas, in line with Malaysian personal data protection requirements. The pilot runs in a limited area first and is only extended after review.
